Keep in mind your goals and tailor your choice to those. There are brokers and advisors. You can research at least basic information (especially registrations and any disclosures) on finra.org (brokers) or sec.gov (advisors). Ask how they are compensated and what you get for that compensation. If planning is your goal you may want to lean towards a CFP. Your situation may not even call for an advisor, a robo-advisor like betterment or even Fidelity may do the job just as well right now. Feel free to send me a message if you'd like to chat.
