Jean Tobias O'Brien. I have not known a reputable breeder (and I've known quite a few of all different breeds) who would sell their dogs in a pet store. They want to meet the ppl adopting their puppies whom they have put so much time and energy into. Making sure they carry on the breed's standards, characteristics, tempermant, and health. And a potential buyer should want to buy from a reputable breeder. Meet the pup's parents, etc. to make sure they are getting a quality pup. Even if a puppy has "AKC" papers, they are 99% from puppy mills. It's okay if you don't believe me. I have been in dog rescue a long time.
