Jake's pediatric ophthalmologist left his practice and I'm on the hunt for a new ophthalmologist for him, as he needs his glasses fixed! Anyone have one that they would...
Jennifer B. replied:
We went to a pediatric Opthamology in Columbia. We received a letter last year saying that the pediatric specialist in the practice were leaving, and because of Max's eye problem they would recommend I find a new pediatric Opthamology office- the closest one is Greenville or Charlotte!
Jennifer C. replied:
Mom said there really isn't anyone around here she would recommend now, but she suggest Dr. Cheeseman. He is with Storm Eye Institute in Charleston. He was here until about six months ago or so.
Julie T. replied:
Dr. Cheeseman is who we used to see lol. Thanks for checking for me. I visit Charleston alot, so maybe I will just take him back to Dr. Cheeseman down there! Thanks again for you help!
Melinda H. replied:
Ethan saw Dr. Cheeseman and we loved him but he referred us to Dr. Edward Wilson at Storm Eye Institute for his cataract surgery. Don't know how far you are from Florence but we now use Dr. Mark Stokes at Stokes Eye Center. We really like him a lot.
Stacy M. replied:
Dr McWilliams is now back at PHR and he is a pediatric. He was actually here before and then with MUSC. He came back to fill the hole Cheeseman left.
Lauren S. replied:
Before Dr. Cheeseman, we saw a specialist in Charlotte. She was a lady and super nice. Can't remember her name at the moment. Dr. Cheeseman did Ty's sx when he came to Columbia.
Anyone know of a good ophthalmologist in the Columbia area? Preferably holistically minded or at least minimally invasive with recommendations. Thanks!!
Karla M. replied:
Not in the Columbia area---I have a wonderful ophthalmologist at Georgetown University Hospital---His name is Dr. Lustbader and because it is in the hospital, they accept insurance. Can't comment on how holistic he is---However, I did not see him as be ing invasive and he has been spot on with his recommendations for me. My mom has some excellent ophthalmologists in Greenbelt and Bowie that I can get the names for should you have difficulty finding a suitable doctor to see. Are you looking for someone who works in pediatric ophthalmology or someone for the whole family?
Yes--Ingram Comprehensive Eye Care on Forest. Dr Ingram is awesome--younger guy, very knowledgable, takes time w patients and great faith-centered guy. And he used to be my neighbor!
I need a recommendation for a good ophthalmologist for my "medically necessary" exams (meaning it can't be a Sansbury or WalMart-type doc.). Suggestions?
Melissa N. replied:
Dr Cannon (the wife or husband both are good) at contact lens clinic (think that's what it's called). It's the new place on the left going out of your neighborhood from Midlands Tech. way.
BTW, if you are looking for an ophthalmologist... might I recommend Dr. S. Clay Miller on St. Andrews Road in the Lexington Medical Center Park. Convenient location,...
