If you're looking to start on Thursday I would say do Covington area to Glencoe and stay in Sparta (provided there are available rooms). Then on Friday work from Glencoe to Frankfort or even south of there. Lawrenceburg, Harrodsburg and Danville all offer multiple lodging options close to or on the 127 route. Some of the sellers start before the "official" start day but the heaviest concentration will be Thu-Sat. Eagle Lake Expo in Lawrenceburg starts early in the week before the official start. We usually hit the expo on Tuesday on our way down to Russell Springs, KY.
