My daughter was 3 when she needed major work on her 4 front teeth, as a former dental assistant I knew that she couldn't sit still for our regular dentist to do the work and he admited to not being comfortable doing it. He suggested we call Marie-Josee Pilon or Caroline Quach, they are specialized and they were wonderful. I never expected for her to sit still never mind enjoy the experience, she has asked several times if she can go back to see them instead of going to our regular dentist. Dr Bellefleur in Pierrefonds, she is very calm and so are her technicians, they specialize in children. My daughter has had 4 teeth taken out (on 2 different occcasions), they kept her very calm, it was quick and painless.

Definitely Dr. Maria Sgro! She has an office near the Holiday Inn off of Boulevard St. Jean, and is also a pediatric dentist at the Children's. She is the nicest, gentlest, and most honest dentist I know. Highly recommend!

My 3 year old son has milk caries and they told me to put him under!! I was horrified at the suggestion and went to see around 15 different dentists for many different opinions and I found myself at Centre Dentaire pour Enfants Pierrefonds Dr Erle Shneidman worked magic with his teeth and he hardly complained. He was aware that we didn't under no circumstances wanted to put him under and he worked with my son and fixed his teeth without making my son terrified of dentists:)

I went to Dr Dushkin at the Anjou Centre Dentaire for years with my children. He will do an alternative to anestesia and he is amazing. I would drive there in snow storms and in traffic from NDIP - THAT is how good they are. Feel free to pm me.

They were my life saver for me (i'm TERRIFIED of the dentist after a series of horrible events) and will be taking my kids there after having a weird experience with my son recently at his dentist (was trying out someone closer to home for us). I didn't want silver fillings in his mouth and the dentist said he wouldn't do composite "while" fillings. Clinique Larose do not use mercury EVER and have different solutions for the care of children's teeth that are way more gentle then what most dentists offer. Give them a call, ask them what ever question you want. The two receptionist will take all the time you need answering your questions...and they are happy to help!

Dr Sgro is pretty good. My son needs a few fillings and she was very understanding and gentile. We didn't do the fillings yet but are looking to start at the beginning of the new year.

We are in the same boat with our 7 year old. We tried multiple dentists and I have to say that Dr. Amin was awesome and was able to get her relaxed enough to use the gas once. After that the next time we couldn't make it happen again. I would suggest you give him a try first, he is at Fairview Dental and honestly is SO GOOD with kids. Sadly after everything else did not work she is scheduled to go under general next month at the clinic below. I would take him to Nilesh Amin at Bella dentaire in Vaudreuil, earlier in the school year my 6 yr old had a accident and ended up needing 2 teeth pulled. My son who normally cried from the needle was very calm. He has ADHD very bad but was so good there. I explained he was going to see my friend and that I trusted my friend very much.

Dr Dushkin and his clinic were wonderful. They use nitrous oxide (laughing gas). I would highly recommend them.

Dr Lieberman in Beaconsfield next to Gold's Gym is very good.

I've done it on my son when he was like 5 with 9 cavedies now at 7 y. Old he has 3 and the same dentist says they can do it with laughing gas and it's free. There a special dentist for kids in anjou on jean talon and there # is 514 254-2000. Btw this clinic is the BEST.

Thanks Kim Moldock ..You girls make a guy blush:) Bottom line 4 year olds are tough..we do try our best to coach them..Tell, Show and Do is what I do and lots of patience:) Trust is key in dealing with a child.. Our new office will have nitrous gas (a month or so), and eventually a soft tissue laser which eliminates the need for a needle on baby teeth. Short apt is also a must. This will help along with all the bells and whistles to make a kid feel like they enjoy coming to the office (TV, IPADS,Salt water-nemo tank) etc..I'm around at Fairview although not as much but in Vaudreuil as well. Unfortunately some kids are impossible to treat in the clinic. We have to look at the fact that the work is compromised when a child is difficult. I am a parent and I understand the hesitation of GA but we have to look at the best interest of the child. We also have the option of the Children's hospital, Dr. Scheindmans. I hope this helps.
