Check out stayinjasper.com. There are lots of approved accommodations listed. It is Jasper's version of a B&B. Columbine House and The Bears Den are 2 of our favourites.

I live in Jasper. With free entry to the park this year, the media wasn't joking when they said book early. I don't know of anywhere available. Try www.stayinjasper.com You could try camping but it may already be booked solid as well. There are little cabins at whistler campground. Goodluck.

I use booking.com in the UK. All listings are on it, including Air BnB and often at a better rate. And definitely head to Edinburgh for a few days. Also, Rabbie's Tours has some good excursions that leave from either city. Do a couple day tours if you don't have time for anything longer. Scotland is amazing.
