Yes there are 3 centres in Calgary. I think you just need to register at the centre and you can get the supplies you need. As for your dog, https://www.facebook.com/150731724951172 Western Veterinary Specialist and Emergency Centre is offering free vet checks. I believe they have been collecting donations as well so you might be able to get some assistance there. I usually board my dog at Little Paws Inn (http://www.littlepawsinn.ca/) 780-757-2971. They have someone there overnight with the dogs, so we felt comfortable leaving ours there when he had to take medication. Hope the info helps! There are lots of places in the city but I found Little paws is quite caring. They also have a separate area for senior dogs and/or dogs that don't need a full day of play time.

If your dog is used to a kennel, Perfect Place takes very good care of dogs. But if they’re used to sleeping on your bed, most kennels will be hard for them to adapt to.

You can give 1 mg of Benadryl per pound that your dog weighs 2-3 times a day I been told by the vet for my boxers who also get bad allergies but I think she is looking for the steroid to give a better solution for the poor guy :( I believe there is an emergency vet called guardian that maybe you can call and get some assistance if you explain what's going on. My mini pin jack Russell cross is on allergy meds as well. I had to book an appt to get the pills . The pink ones mine is on are called vanectyl p. If your vet can call it into G&E Pharmacy in Edmonton they will fill it for you.
