Does anyone have a recommendation for a mobile vet or one that makes house calls? Or have you had a positive experience with a local vet who helped your pet pass over?...
Jolee H. replied:
try Pets and Pals. They LOVE their animals and it's animal-y and friendly and calm and I just love them. Moved here from Animal House 10693 Arapahoe Road, Lafayette, CO 80026 (303) 666-0254
Becky A. replied:
Totally second Pets and Pals. We lost our relatively young dog last fall to cancer. When it was obvious that it was time, Dr Glenn came to the house and we put her to sleep in our backyard with both my husband and I holding and petting her. So hard, but so glad to skip the final car ride and let her go in a safe, comfortable place. Good luck to you.
Annie L. replied:
Sonya I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Dr. Jason Cordeiro of One Last Gift (mentioned above). When we had to put our cat to sleep last spring he was so helpful, kind, compassionate, and caring. I am sorry to hear about your cat. It is very hard to lose a pet:(

Tim T. replied:
Jason Cordeiro at home was a very sweet experience for us at home as well. A difficult event but much calmer in your own environment.
Dawn F. replied:
We recently had to make this decision for our 16 year old sharpei. My heart goes out to you because even if its the right decision, it's still very hard. We had Dr. Jason Cordeiro, of One Last Gift, help us with another dog a few years ago and there was no doubt in our mind that we would do exactly the same for our sharpei. Dr. Cordeiro genuinely cares about our pets and each one of the family members.
Dr Steve Sanderlin(720)256-4900, He has a ultra high-tech mobile surgical center on wheels. Not to mention he's an awesome vet who combines holistic and traditional veterinary medicine. Super great guy, who actually cares more about getting your pet well, than milking a huge bill out of you. Texas A&M educated, so he's from one of the most reputable vet schools in the nation. http://www.homeinsteadvetcare.com/

I've had my pups put down at home where they are in a loving environment with the people that love them. Dr. Janie with At Home and At Peace Vet services out of Longmont. She was the most gentle soul I've ever met. The experience was so peaceful for my lab. So not that they need another vote, I also love Foxtail Pines. My one dog loves Dr. Skelley. My other dog was nervous last time so he carried her around the back telling her what all of the things were. You just don't get that type of treatment anymore. Bonus you can take your dog then walk right behind them to get a yummy latte at Cristos!

Foxtail Pines is the absolute best. I am VERY picky about vets, because my dogs are like my kids. They use vaccines with NO mercury! Same price! And they do not OVER vaccinate your babies. You will LOVE them!!!
Ronda P. replied:
Sherri Foxtail Pines is the best around here. I have lived her 37 years and have used several of the vets. We had an emergency last fall with our cat and they had us come in right away. They were waiting on us when we arrived and the care Silver received was exceptional. They go that extra mile to make sure that the animal feels safe and relaxed and their owners as well. They explained everything that was going on with her in detail in layman's terms. They called several times throughout Silver's treatments to see how she was doing. You can call and speak to a vet or if they are busy they return your call even if it is after hours. The entire staff is caring. Needless to say We love Foxtail Pines. You won't be disappointed with them and trust me your pets will get the best care ever.
Laura E. replied:
I can recommend Dr. Space (and Dr. Dodge) at Jasper Animal Hospital, which is my primary veterinary practice. I've also been to Foxtail Pines once and thought the veterinarian there was wonderful as well. Finally, one of my co-workers has worked with Dr. Abbott in the new practice in Vista Ridge previously and has nothing but good things to say. Amy W. replied:
We used Erie Animal Hospital for years - however, we realized that they charged double what anyone else was, and we always had a different vet looking at our dogs. We switched over to Pets and Pals, right across the street from Safeway. It looks like an oversized garage, but they really take care of the animals and love what they do! And, we have seen the same vet every time. They are great!
Meagan S. replied:
We had the greatest experience with Foxtail Pines (old Lui's location) Dr Jim is absolutely fabulous. We just rescued a lab mix that came with tons of health issues. We originally took him to Banfield and had an awful experience. Dr Jim is fixing him right up! The difference since he's been treating him is incredible..
Bonnie R. replied:
We love Pets and Pals. They're old school veterinarians who treat you with kindness and efficiency, and they're less expensive than anyone else. When I brought my new rescue dog into them I thought they'd charge me a ton for shots and the exam. Turns out his records showed he had all his shots so they gave him an exam and a big hug. Total cost: $16!

Kyle M. replied:
Nice bashing job Judy. So you went to the subsidized, low income clinic, instead of supporting a new local business who has gone out of his way to keep his prices down, and help.many many Erie residents. Sister Carmen has food boxxes too, since King Sooper may be too much for you!
Rhonnie M. replied:
go to Jasper Animal Hospital in Lafayette! I bet your pup has an infection from perhaps a puncture wound. Gravity will make it droop down. Get it checked out ASAP.

We used Coal Ridge Animal Hospital in Firestone for our spaying (other places we called were quite expensive as well- guess I should be considering Sister Carmen too?) ;-) I don't know about their prices for the service you're looking for but it's worth a call. Good luck to you and your pup!
