Question- If 9 out of 10 doctors recommend Shredded Wheat (for example) as a "heart healthy food" (for example), then why does 1 out of 10 NOT recommend it? Never did...
Dawn B. replied:
Lol this ones for you Kenny;) Normal humans between 2 and 5 years of age stop producing the enzyme used to break down the sucrose in milk. They believe that the adults that have no issue with digesting have mutated genes:) lol http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/tech/science/2009-08-30-lactose-intolerance_N.htm
Kenny F. replied:
cardboard is probably healthier by comparison. Shredded Wheat being "the least of one's concerns for sugar" is the problem here. Glucose is 100% sugar that isn't sweet....that's why it's so dangerous.
Kenny F. replied:
1. Ice Cream isn't touted as something healthy the way Shredded Wheat is. 2. The medical establishment would have you think (and I'm sure you do) that the cream and the eggs are the part of ice cream that's going to adversely affect your health and your girlish figure, however the devil is in the sugar. Half a cup of plain vanilla Haagen Dazs has 19 g of sugar -- that's the equivalent of almost 5 teaspoons.
Kenny F. replied:
Shredded wheat (as well as 99/100 boxed cereals) is less nutritious than the box it comes in. (hehe---i said "box it comes in") What most people don't realize about Shredded Wheat is that it's nearly 100% sugar (glucose). Without a "healthy fat" to temper is, the blood sugar spike that ensues in your body is a roller coaster that even Great Adventure would envy. This is one of the reasons that when the American Diabetic Association tells its members to eat a "healthy" breakfast of Shredded Wheat and skim milk it makes me want to throw poop at them. On the other hand, the ADA has an EXCELLENT retention rate, so maybe they're onto something. I'm not a doctor, but if I were, I'd be the one screaming that the other 9 are wrong, and you deserve whatever disease you get for listening to them if you don't do your own research. Most of today's doctors know frighteningly little about nutrition. This is why I plead with people to do their own research and stop letting other people with other interests do their thinking for them. Especially when it comes to diet and nutrition.

Connie Jappadona chiming in! Love it, John. Big smile here. and it's odd- the original post was NOT about the wheat, or toothpaste, or any product in particular, it was about the one out of ten who DON'T "recommend" the product, whatever the "product" is, and why that is.
Anyone know a good orthopedic, specifically back, doctor in Huntington? And a good eye doctor while we're at it..
Matt C. replied:
My eye doctor is Lonnie Lucas at the Rt 60 Wal-Mart. I've never had a problem with him.
Zack A. replied:
Dr. Oliashirazi is ortho at cabell. He goes by Dr. Ali. Most people that come in ask for him. I used to always go to Dr. Cook for eyes. He's on 3 rd avenue by fazolis before you get to Pullman. Hope this helps!:-)

I go to Dr. Knight at the Eyemart close to Target in Barboursville. Excellent care!!
