Do it now. You'll need one as soon as he is born for the newborn checkup. I've really loved Cornerstone so far and I've seen 3 peds since Brooke arrived. (Mostly bc of the holidays.) Dr Lawley is her Ped. Love her!

My wife likes Dr. Brassart at Cornerstone Pediatrics. She says that, if you pick the pediatrician before you have the baby, your pediatrician will make a hospital visit after your delivery.

Love Dr. Zabell! My family has known her for a long time and I actually went to her a few times when I was young. Dr. Dudley is Harper's and Annabelle's pediatrician ( and was mine as well) but I am pretty sure she is no longer taking new patients.

We love Dr. Horton with twickenham pediatrics. Victoria was born at 5 am New Year's Eve, and 3 hours later he was there to check on her and every day after for the rest of our stay. He's really laid back and doesn't push antibiotics. He was also the on ly pediatrician that set up a meeting with me before she was born. Neither hsv pediatrics or cornerstone gave me that option so I felt much more comfortable seeing someone I had met with already than a complete stranger coming to check on my newborn.

We love Michael Powell! He's very conservative with giving meds and evrything else. There have been a number of occassions that he has called to check on the kids after hours. Last Easter Jonathan was admitted for cellulitis and he came to the hospital at midnight, on his off day to check on him. Don't find many like him anymore. The nurse told us once we got in a room for the night that was one of very few that did those things.

Love, love, love Cornerstone! We had Dr. Cartwright (who has retired) and Dr. Brassart (who is my nifty next door neighbor), but when we moved we gave up our spot and the last 50 times I have called they have said they aren't accepting new patients and to try back later. If they are accepting again, please let me know because I am very iffy about the one we have right now unsure emoticon

I also use Dr Jain and Dr Lotfy at Brightstarts Peds. Super convenient location behind the Redstone Credit Union on Sullivan. Also, they always get us in for last min sick apts and we almost never have to wait more than 5 mins. I also love that they wi ll give phone consults readily and happily prescribed just in case meds if we are traveling or a holiday is coming up. It has saved us from having to go to urgent care many times. Dr Jain is so laid back and really listens to my concerns. Love him & Dr. Lotfy!

We use Dr. Zabell at Madison Pediatrics. She is AMAZING!! The entire staff is wonderful. Haven't heard that about cornerstone... Plus I'm a former patient But keep in mind if you are planning on delivering at Madison Hospital some of the pediatrician don't do the initial checkup. I had 0 problems with this because the Drs that did her check up were surgeons/specialists. Hope this helps!!

Huntsville Pediatric Associates in the medical mall have treated all my friends and their kids well. My BF's mom is a nurse up there and he and his siblings went up there as long as they could. I even enjoy keeping up with the office on Facebook, despite my lack of kids. Seems to be the bee's knees in pediatric medicine.

I used Joanne Johnson for the first year for kobie and like Julia-Dream Whitworth we only seen her one time. The waits are terrible I've waited 3 ½ hours before. Every time we went in they acted like he had never been there before. I felt like i could have taken him to the health department and they would have gave him better care and acted a little more concerned about him. I wouldn't recommend her.
