My daughter went to Little Owl in Bixby Knolls and we loved it! Several of my neighbors are happy with Cal Heights Methodist Church Preschool. Isabel Patterson is highly regarded as is Long Beach City College Child Development Center at the Pacific Coast Campus.

I might add that you have to hurry because when I started looking there was a huge waiting list for most of these places. With the Headstart program you had to have a certain income range. Heard that people didn't qualify because they made too much or long waiting list. Isabell Patterson has a great preschool but again-waiting list.

I totally agree with Laura, I had my daughter at Willow Tree and we LOVED IT! It's M-Th for 3.5 hours a day and its through LAUP so there isn't any fees!

Lakewood Village Community Church Nursery School is AMAZING! I sent my oldest there and now my middle child is going. It really is wonderful and I was so happy when I found it. FYI, it is a traditional preschool, in that, it's only half day (morning and afternoon programs). They don't offer full day/ daycare.

Two of my children went to Lakewood Village. I highly recommend the school. If you need a preschool that is 6 am to 6 pm, I would recommend Los Altos Methodist Preschool off Woodruff/Willow. I had one child there. Good Luck in your search.
