We live in Broadbeach and love it! Mermaid Beach, Broadbeach Waters, Mermaid Waters, Burleigh Heads and Burleigh Waters are all fantastic areas to live in, beachfront or 5 minutes to beach. We love our childcare centre on Isle of Capri Ph. 5504 6366. Lots of great activities around these areas - very active lifestyle on the Gold Coast and council cater to that. Fitness First at Mermaid Beach has fantastic facilities, classes etc and a childcare centre attached. I have 2 boys, Kaiden (4) and Rhys (2) who love to play with other kids and I highly recommend Babysitting Friends for meeting people or contact Sandra Bfield for an invite to the Robina Meet Group. Goodluck! I moved from Tassie to Melbourne then up here and after 6 years, still think it was the best thing that I ever did. Revolutionary Cleaning with Janelle xoxo

We live in Labrador which is on the broadwater and has fantastic parks and swimming areas- my DS who is 3 1/2 goes to Labrador Playschool and the staff are fantastic. Runaway Bay Sports Super Centre has childminding facilities; as does Southport Olympic Pool. Good luck with the move!

hi we did the same move 13 months ago! you will love it up here especially "QLD Winter" .Id start by advising you to get youre little one on a C and K waiting list for kindy(obviously once you decide on suburb) because kindy up here is very different to kindy in melbourne.very few occassional care centres but lots of family day carers that do Occassional care hours (flexible).we are in upper coomera which is for the most part a new area and has some great schools both private and public, and i would highly reccomend Coomera Springs or highland reserve schools and suburbs.its only half hour to the airport,20-30 mins to most beaches.and only 5 mins to the theme parks.lots of activities for the kids both council run and privately run and loads of walking groups around the lake as well as pt groups down by the lake!good luck if you need anything please pm me!
Hi everyone i have a nearly 3 year old, we will be moving to Melbourne around the dandenong area. Looking for suggestions for child care in or around that area....
Samantha H. replied:
Fifth Avenue Child Care is absolutely amazing. It's on Fifth Avenue in Dandenong just off Princess hwy. I'm extremely fussy as to where is send my kids after many years of working in child care and found this to the best program's and not to mention the centre it's self is beautiful the educators are so approachable and loving.
Clea S. replied:
I have had my daughter in with the same lady from Family Day Care Organisation for nearly 7 years- in Dandenong North.

Anonymous question about child care

Tracey M. replied:
Just FYI, au pairs are not usually trained child carers and should not a) work full time, or b) be left in sole charge of children under the age of 2 yrs. This might be of assistance in clarifying the difference: http://www.australiannannyassociation.org/#!nannies/c1 ghi
Melanie R. replied:
Ive worked in Childcare for 6 years but never knew the expense of it until I had to put my twins in a few months back, in the end I couldnt afford it so now they're in only one day a week. maybe check out Family Daycare or a nanny. Also its really hard to get two spots at a Daycare centre so best to call around as soon as possible
