It's hard to say what something is without having an X-ray of the tooth but it could be possible that you just need a good cleaning or you might possibly have a cavity.. It doesn't sound like you are cold sensitive which in most cases (not always) means the tooth is going nacrotic in which case means either you save the tooth with a root canal or you can have the tooth extracted! However if it is a cavity and you wait long enough you can develop a cavity big enough to classify it as a root canal! I'm sorry that your teeth hurt though! Tooth ACHES are the worst!! If you can't get in soon at your place and you want you are more than welcome to call into my work and see if they can get you in!! We're really good with taking emergencies:)
