Easy to replace. Just need the socket. Get one at Lowes or Home Depot in the water heater section. Cut power at the breaker, turn off and drain the water, unscrew the old, screw in the new, water back on till the tank fills then turn the juice back on. Wiring the elements is easy - just move one wire at a time from old to new.
