I am also very pleased with Broadway Robbinsdale Animal Hospital! Their prices are reasonable compared to other area vets & their staff really cares about your pet. I had to put one of my dogs to sleep last September & they were very kind throughout the entire process. I recommend them to all my friends.

Does anyone know a relatively inexpensive dog trainer? As my post says, looking for a trainer but don’t have a lot of money. Everywhere I look they’re so expensive....

My dog and I attended obedience classes at PetSmart in the Quarry when he was a puppy. The instruction was outstanding, and the things that he and I learned are evident to this day. They do a teriffic job of showing you the process of how to train. I’d recommend checking them out. I think I paid like $140 for several weeks.

Diluted capsaicin applied topically on things you don't want to get chewed. They'll learn after the first couple of attempts. /s Only somewhat kidding though... This technique helped me stop chewing on my fingernails as a child very quickly. My parents were quite the clever and pragmatic couple. I was probably about as smart as a doggo at the time.

Have you tried getting some advice on r/dogtraining ? Those guys are pretty helpful.

Puppies are destructive so that's just how it is. Exercise is great, but for a high energy dog no amount of exercise will overcome the destructive curiosity of being a puppy. I have trained 2 dogs through obedience level 3 (the highest TCOTC offered before they restructured the.), both passed canine good citizen, and one was a registered therapy dog (the other is still too young) here is your answer: You need to crate your dog when it is a puppy unless you are there and can watch them.
Doggie peeps: any recommendations for a positive dog trainer/class in the Forest Lake area? Thanks in advance! :)
Marc S. replied:
Stone Mountain Pet Lodge does great work. They're in Blaine - not sure if that's considered the Forest Lake area. The other is On the Run! Canine Center in Ham Lake. Haven't had experience with them, but it looks like they have a nice facility.

I would recommend Linda Schindler at Pet Junction in Shoreview.

Hey everybody! I need to seek help from a dog trainer. Does anyone have recommendations? Lugosi has aggression and dominance problems.

K9 Coach is the best though expensive.

Marilyn Morgan Holzerland hahahha you're funny... marker is a word or sound or action that "marks" the exact right moment poochie is doing what you want and is going to be rewarded.
Feedback from my friends of animals please! A friend of mine has two dogs that feed of each other and bark at anything. Looking for comments, advice, warnings,...
