From Sam's Cats and Dogs FB page: A Canine Experience Inc. will be offering basic classes here; our first one will start Thursday, August 28 and will run for for 6 weeks from noon to 1 pm. Classes are limited to only 8 dogs, so please call the store and sign up today so you can ensure your spot! This is our trial run so if you have any suggestions of better times/days, let us know and we will keep it in our minds! The first class will be basic obedience, appropriate for all ages of canines, and they encourage the entire family to participate in the learning! It's a very fun course, you get the chance to learn why dogs think the way they do, how to better communicate with them. In addition to the typical sit, down, stay they will also teach you how to teach your dog recall, go to bed, wait, basics of agility and the basics of scent-work! If you want to reserve your spot for this class, please call US at 360-805-5060! If you have any specific questions for the trainers, please call them at 360-668-0350!

Please read this before making a decision. Also, the best trained and most reliable dogs you know are seeing eye and service dogs, right? They don't use ANY pain or negative reinforcement and some of those dogs are rescues. http://positively.com/dog-training/methods-equipment/training-equipment/shock-collars/

Our Shepard went thru got sit almost 3 years ago. Now 80% of the time he doesn't wear his collar and does well. If we go out in public or he hasn't had it on for awhile he will test the waters but comes around quickly. Highly recommend Anthony and Marvin Versteeg

Looking for a dog trainer, I have one lady I've found but wanted to get a referral if you know a good one.
Elisha V. replied:
I was really happy with their approach, take a look: http://ahimsadogtraining.com/. they focus on encouraging good behavior instead of just punishing bad behavior. This way the dog learns what you like instead of only what you hate. Plus, the classes were fun with all the puppies. I can message some tips I have to you too if you'd like. Just let me know!

Dog Works. Across from Library. Love them! Once you start with a proper trainer you will soon find out that as a handler there is a lot to learn about the proper way to communicate with our furry friends. Started at Dog Works with Obedience classes 4 years ago and then progressed into Agility. My little guy loves it and loves seeing his friends at class every week.

Before you decide, you should 100% have someone from Got Sit (based in Monroe) come to your house and do a free consult! I tell people about them whenever I can, they truly changed our life! My dog is the 4 year old English Mastiff in the center of the picnic table. At 2 1/2 he became dog aggressive~ he had just graduated a basic obedience class, with flying colors, and one day, he just changed into a non listening, starting-fights kind of dog! Basic Obedience was just not enough for him. I had a home consult with Marvin, and it went great. From the moment Marvin met Lurky, Lurky was already showing improvement, and an eagerness to learn. Some work with the trainers, Marvin, Anthony, and Scott, and he is a changed dog! I was so worried, since he is too strong to not be listening to me, especially if he is trying to start fights. He is off leash with me where ever I go, and we run into dogs all the time now. If I am ever worried about the way another dog is acting, I will just have him sit, and pay attention to me, and wait for the other dog to pass. Got Sit has a great training program, and it is lifetime training. If your dog regresses, they will help to retrain. There are also classes every week, for the life of your dog, at various locations, all included for free. I go to them as often as I can. My dog and I have an absolute blast, as you will see if you look at the photos on their face book page. Good Luck! PM me if you have any questions!!!
