If you want to go with a private bakery the Sweet Spot in New Milford or Sweet Rewards in Brookfield both make excellent cakes. I've never ordered sheet cakes from them, but I would assume they make them.

Bethel Food Market has good rolls but they don't make hamburger or hot dog rolls. Try Potato martin rolls.

Stop & Shop and Big Y rolls in the bakery are both good, even if they do come frozen. they fresh bake them every day. And even though they aren't bakery, the bagged potato hot dog & hamburger rolls in the bread aisle are really soft and delicious!
