Price really depends on what they want done and what's there now... DO NOT go with the cheapest out there, you get what you pay for in many ways. Get experienced people who do it right, that means licensed and with permits. Tons of outfits in Vancouver will do it cheap but you will get shoddy work and no permits which will bite you later. I'm in the construction industry though and my company focuses on interior design and renovations so I'm a bit biased. PM me if you are interested and I will see if I can help them out.

By reasonable, do they mean $15,000-20,000? Because that's about the minimum you will spend to do both those rooms in any real sense of the word 'renovation'. Look into Shell Busey's Homesmart website.

I run a company of 3 red seal carpenters and we are just getting started in the industry on our own so we are offering great low rates. We've all got 10 years of experience each so this sort of renovation is right up our alley. If you want to cash in on lower labor rates for highly skilled guys that will do a great job, PM me and we could come take a look and throw an estimate at it after discussing what they would like done.
