I used to work for Unity Insurance Brokers many years ago and they know their stuff, but you will pay a brokers fee with most insurance brokers. Depends on whether you are after a simple home & contents policy that covers just the house, tanks, sheds & fencing - just ring around the major insurers (Allianz, QBE, SGIO, CGU, etc) and the first question to ask is - do they insure however many acres your property is on. If you are after a more comprehensive farm type of policy covering machinery, bores, etc, try Elders, Landmark and Wesfarmers.
