My son went to Dr. Timothy Colton in Norwell. He has some different method that cuts down on bleeding and recovery time. I think he may have been a trauma dentist in a war at some time. It was a piece of cake for him, though. But I'm pretty sure your dentist will refer you to the oral surgeon he uses. You should probably ask him or her.

Hi Erin! That was my son's experience as well with Dr. Colton. His were impacted too and there was no swelling or pain. Whatever he does that is different is worth it! He's a bit "high strung" lol....but an excellent surgeon.

A couple of reminders (not sure if anyone mentioned it as I didn't read the other comments) to do before choosing your surgeon. Check your insurance: what is the requirements for anethesia to be covered - three impacted teeth? Is the surgeon in-network? Anyone will take your insurance, but is it in-network. Then go from there. I work for a dentist and I must say that one of the best surgeons around is Timothy Colton in Norwell. He takes all major insurance both health and dental. My daughter went there and my son will too. The recovery was amazingly only a day. The office staff is friendly and well organized. 781-871-7800.

Helene, I usually don't respond to such requests, but wanted to tell you I am an RN with 30 plus years of experience. I've worked with Dr. Lane for the past 12 years. He's done surgery on my family members and myself. I can honestly tell you he is the gentlest, kindest Dr. I have ever worked with. ( and I've worked with many!). Also I can tell you that every member of our office really goes out of there way to make you comfortable.I really feel you won't be unhappy with him. What ever you decide, good luck. I've used Dr. Johnson in Scituate to have two of my teeth pulled. She was awesome and it was as painless as it could be. However, I am unsure if they do kids so I can't comment on that part just my own experience. I recently referred a friend there and he has a great experience too. So sorry for little Ava!
