At Bayside Animal Lodge, we would make sure to give him the best care possible. We have 28 runs with outside patios. Pups in our care are never put in crates. We can accommodate “non social” dogs. We take all of our guests outside for 2 potty breaks and run around time. As a rule, we normally don’t socialize German Shepherds. He will have the yard all to himself. Give us a call for more info, or stop by for a tour. We love to show the kennel to folks. Call 253-851-9170

I 100% recommend https://www.facebook.com/1402085786738033 Red Barn Dog Farm in Port Orchard! My German Shepherd (13.5 years old) and our little English Bulldog (4 years old) have never been boarded before in their lives. We visited and inspected many facilities and fell in love with Kathy's Red Barn Dog Farm. She does not use kennels at all! She is on completely fenced acreage with a fenced-off creek going through part of it. The creek is fenced off so she can control 'Creek Day'.:) Kathy has literally turned her home over to the dogs, providing doggie beds in every room of the house as well as the barn, including a space where dogs can be left alone if they want to be. Kathy is highly trained in multiple areas of canine studies, and has worked with and helped many organizations. I know I sound like a commercial, but we have never regretted taking our dogs there, nor has anyone we've ever recommended. Just go give them a visit and see for yourself, and compare it to other kennels you visit. Best of luck to you!:)

Dianne M. replied:
Thanks Beverly, but he is an old farm dog and has been an only dog. He is kind of old and cranky with other animals. He is happy running around outside, a little stiffly now, and then coming back in and getting some petting and laying around. I do take him to Pet Smart and he just ignores the other animals. I have never left him with anyone except the vet before. I am not sure how he would react. He is really protective and territorial at home though. I am worried about leaving him as you can see.

I own Red Barn Dog Farm and am a certified trainer. Besides private lessons, I also operate a playcare and board dogs. I hate the word "board" because it makes me think of kennels. I do not have kennels! I only take 5 dogs at one time. They are all temperment tested for suitability for the environment I provide. Your dogs are treated like I want my dogs to be treated. They are part of the family. I have 3 fenced acres with lots of playing throughout the day. I'm sure my customers would be happy to share their experience with my business should you be interested. I also foster dogs through CHEW Dog Rescue and am a volunteer at the Kitsap Humane Society. CHEW Dog Rescue representatives would be happy to speak with you as well.
