I have to say I love my dentist and so do my kids. I have dentist anxiety and he is very sensitive and understanding-Dr. Gene DeStefano on Hurley and I turned a lot of people onto him-they all like him

Also had a terrible experience with Dr. Conley.

We love Geri Lynn Waldman at Dolson Ave. Dental in Middletown. She's worth the drive.

I really like Dr. Perry in N Marbletown. Not pediatric specifically, but a gentle man who does teeth well, in my experience.

what about Transend Dental i Woodstock, their philosophy seems very child friendly.

I'd avoid Dr Conley, the local ped dentist, he was horrible. We go to Dr Ben in Hopewell/Westchester but we're dealing with disabilities here

Hi Mary. We are really happy with Dr. Paunovic, offices in Newburgh and Fishkill. Unlike most pediatric dentists, they allow, even encourage, parents to stay in the room. Between my two girls we have had lots of extractions to make room for new teeth. One handles it fine with just Novocain. The other has laughing gas, and it makes a huge difference, totally relaxes her. She literally laughs through it.

Dr. Tannen in Fishkill is terrific. A real child whisperer. Good luck!

Mary, you are swimming in referrals, but thought I'd weigh in. He's not our regular dentist, but when Maya needed more extensive work, we used Dr. Marzullo of Poughkeepsie. The first time two teeth were pulled by him, Maya didn't even know that it happened. (He was used for other procedures as well- equally great.) He has a gifted way with children.

I use Mel Mel dentistry in wappingers they were great when V needed her tooth pulled-it was a baby tooth so it came out super easy. They gave her some novacaine but they numb the area before the shot and he does have gas- but I doubt they give that to kids. I would highly recommend them for the whole family- worth the drive

Dr Tannen saved us when Silas was little and suffered from major anxiety. She came into the waiting room and got right down on his level. Can't teach this. She had a way that he appreciated. And she had lots of bells and whistles- cartoons on the screen for him to watch while she worked on him. Perfect. Easy drive down the thruway and over the bridge. Dr. DeStefano in Hurley is who we use and we love him. But Tannen specializes with kids for good reason. If Silas liked her ... And we would have gone anywhere! Say hi if you go there!

Dr. Eric Christiansen is great in Pleasant Valley.

We use Dr. Groden in the Hark Plaza next to Toyota in wappingers, we really like it there.
