We have been very satisfied with Dr. Mark Rasmussen in Santa Fe. The Lab's VSP insurance is accepted by his office as are a number of others, including BCBS for medical needs. (505) 983-7746

I have been pretty satisfied with Dr. Shin. She is a network provider with VSP; Eye Associates is not. BCBS will cover medical things (cataracts, detached vitreous, probably glaucoma) but not general checks and refractions. Both places will file with BCBS if it is appropriate.

My exam is covered by BCBS and VSP. BCBS covers my exam at Eye Associates because I am diabetic. I have to file with VSP myself but they give me the form. VSP pays for the refraction test. Eye Associates is always busy, though, there is more luck getting an appointment with them in Santa Fe, unless you don't mind waiting 6 weeks.
