Gas company doesn't fix they just do a general check and shut it off - Howard Price main coupling is leaking at furnace but then a possible leak above garage ceiling - we hung some ceiling brackets in the same studs yesterday on center with other sheet rock screws and theoretically the pipe should be above the ceiling joist well out of our way but I guess nothing is guaranteed
