Look into the Feingold Diet. My son is also 7 with ADHD. He is on meds. Adderall XR. Only side effect he's had is that he tends to be more hyper on the days I choose not to give him meds. But going off of all artificial food dyes as well has really made a big difference. I'd like to try the full Feingold diet, but haven't yet, but the dyes alone have made an enormous difference.

The Nueroclinic (sp?) up in Lehi is amazing! I like Dr. Hatch, but he is hard to get in to see. There are a couple of other doctors there too. They treat with herbs, Dr. Hatch has done emotion code stuff, and they primarily do eye exercises to help balance the brain. Every one in our house, except my son, has been there to see them and we have seen wonderful results. It is something that fixes the problem rather than just "putting a bandage" over it. I started seeing them after I had hit the back of my head and had a concussion. If you do the exercises they give you consistently, it can really fix things. They don't take insurance, which is a shame, but other than that, I highly recommend them:)

Dr Dustin Wise in American fork is the absolute best. We live in spanish fork and the drive is not even an issue because he is so good. We had multiple Drs prior that just didn't get child anxiety/depression/adhd but he does and has been amazing!!

My son also was on mess starting young for ADHD. Go to a Doctor that specializes in that. Often you have to fine tune their med and dose through trial and error to get what works well. I went to Dr. Ron Jones in Provo. Coffee does help.

I have multiple kids with these issues due to autism, FASD, and MAS. Natural is extremely difficult. The natural way to handle much of this, if there isn’t an underlying issue such as autism, is an arduous journey. You will need to cut just about everything that is processed and/or has food dyes. You will need to get allergy prick tests done along with blood test to check IGG levels from allergies. There is an irritant in their system somewhere, somehow. It could be a food or multiple foods. It could be in their clothes. Some people are allergic or sensitive to fake fabrics. Most people have no idea how hard it is to keep their child from eating this stuff. It’s in every meal at school, every cereal other than oats, in all fast food, and pretty much everything yummy. You will need to do an elimination diet. You will start with just eating meats. Then slowly add veggies, fruits, and grains one at a time to see which ones they react to. If you and your kid are strong enough and determined enough then it’s totally worth it. If you can’t trust them to stick to it when they leave your house then I would work to get the meds balanced so he isn’t a zombie. Good luck. IM me if you want to know more. Neurodevelopment Center of Utah Neurofeedback They will place electrodes on his head corresponding to the correct lobe of his brain, while the electrodes read the brains activity. The reason for his adhd/anxiety is his brainwaves are overstimulated. When the brainwaves are being read on the computer screen, there are two horizontal lines indicating where the “normal” brainwaves should be. When the brainwave hits/fires a normal brainwave, the computer beeps, the brain likes the response and tries to do it over and over... computer game for the brain. It is training the brainwaves/brain to be calm. My son did this treatment when he was 11. They say 20 visits will retrain the brain without any follow up. It is expensive... but, I took the amount copays for two medications over the years he would need them til, say age 65......would have cost a ton more. The stress of not going to the doctors monthly to adjust medications, struggle with school work and social skills....gone! My son is now 24 years old. He was on the honor roll in HS, served a spanish speaking mission and has attended college. This has been a blessing to both of us! We didn’t like the medication either! Which lead us to this!

My daughter was put on adhd medications and it made her crash too. Doctor ran thyroid tests and discovered she actually never had adhd, she has a non functioning thyroid. She got the proper treatment and is herself again, all her adhd symptoms are gone. Might be worth asking your pediatrician. The one that found my daughters thyroid disease is Dr. D. Devenport in Springville.

It knocked my flu out in a few days, and was 1/9 the price of Tamilfu -IF you use cash-pay at the pharmacy, not your insurance. About $13.50 at Costco / $18 at Walmart. Hope you get feeling better. I saw Dr Lundell for what he said was an adrenal problem, got a second opinion after spending hundreds on his office supplied medication and it turns out it was anemia, plus the meds he was giving me were really bad and not even FDA approved. I've heard of several people telling me similar things as well. Very suspicious that he doesn't accept insurances any longer. I'd start with a second opinion first.

There is a new doctor in Payson that is amazing! His name is Dr. Farley and he was able to help my daughter with her back issues when nobody else could. I thought that Reischman was the only way to go until I talked with a few nurses and they said they were really impressed with Dr. Farley, he didn't disappoint us, he was amazing and figured out what was wrong with her, done what needed to be done, and she is on the road to recovery. I'm not knocking any other doctor, but just letting people know there is an amazing new doctor that is just as good as Reischman available.

Dr Jon Edwards is in with Reichman but is young and has new renovations and is very good. He has done away with a lot of the old fashioned ways.
