I called the car dealership to find out the cost of doing the 80,000 mile tune up. They said between $600-$800. I called Minor Mobley at Excel, took it in, and the only thing that actually needed to be changed at this time was the transmission fluid. Whenever I go in to Excel for an oil change, they just go ahead and check everything anyways. I absolutely appreciate not being oversold on stuff I don't need. Thanks Excel! Jennifer Mobley

There are area hotels that give a discount for the one-night stay and then you can park for free at their lot and get shuttled to the airport. Saved us a bunch of money vs limo. Did you ask the folks at Pineview Care Facility if they could assist you in finding transport? They arrange transportation for their residents that need to go to Dr appointments. I was in the hospital for 5 months last year & part of the time I was in Rosewood Care Center in Elgin. The nurses called for transport as they got a discounted rate. It was $30.00 one way plus milage I understand that this is really expensive, but it it's your last resort, I would be willing to help you with the expense. My mom had Alzheimer's. I miss her every day. God bless you & your mom.

I've used American Taxi. One trip was an older town car with a broken driver's seat that leaned way back. The other was a mini van that made a noise that made the mechanic in me wonder if the wheel was going to fall off. We made it without issues both times.
