I will say this just to make people aware of what can happen to your beloved pets if you are not careful and this was 4 years ago and since then they have a new grooming manager which is a friends daughter so I am sure its better but my 4 or 5 lb. Bichon was abused at Pet Smart 4 years ago. I was called by the man grooming him which told me I can not groom your dog today because he wont quit pooping on hisself and I the groomer have gallstones and I can not deal with this. I asked him why would he be doing that and he said I should not have fed him before he came. I told him I did not feed him but I would come and get him. They called me right back and said the manager would groom him. When I picked him up he did not know me, he did not know where his bed was, he cried and the next day he had 2 bloody and black eyes. . It was a holiday and everyone was closed but several days later I took him to be boarded at another place and they told me he had been drugged and hit in the face or head and it happens often. If your pet does not want to go to the groomer you use change because being scared is their only way of telling you there is a problem

Connie Coker at Westridge Animal Hospital (over by Texas side Walmart) is the only person I trust to cut my dogs hair & she does a great job. One of my dogs died at the place across from Wisdom Animal Clinic, 30 minutes after we dropped her off. So I don't recommend them!

Why could they not have picked your dog up. If a dog is scared of a groomer after they have been groomed there before there could be a reason. My dogs beg to go get pretty at Prancing Paws doggie day care.

I've been using this type of rake for the shedding of the undercoat for a few years now. Takes a little elbow work (since they have such a great undercoat), but it allows their coat to keep their body temp regulated.

Paw Paw Patch does a great job with our Shih Tzu and did a great job with my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, too. edit: forgot to add.. my Cavalier was only 9 months at the time, and he's a wiggler at the groomer's so i'm sure he wasn't a complete angel. it was his 3 rd time at the groomer.
