Hospital Boram. Dr. Hwan (male) and Dr. Jung (female). Actually, they are very well known among Ulsan ajumas (korean). There is free traslator if needed and the pediatric clinic is great as well. I moved from Fraumedi to Boram due to a serious condition during pregnancy, and it was the right decision. I woundnt go to University Hospital, they just have no room for postpartum care.

I went to another one close to Uljugun office before Sae-Han. That doc tried to convince me that lower lumbar disc degeneration was causing my knee pain and that nothing was wrong with my knee. He tried to get me to do a 360,000 won MRI on my back. I also had to go back for physical therapy on several occasions for my knee and my back. I got a 2 nd opinion that showed a 30% MCL tear in my knee. For obvious reasons, I won't say the name on here of the 1 st doc.

It depends if you need more of a GP or a specialist. If you need a specialist, you will either have to go to a specialist clinic or a large hospital like Ulsan University Hospital for example. If it's a large hospital, there will be a reception desk and they will ask you what department you need to see. If it's a clinic, they might ask you to fill out forms and for proof of insurance, what's the problem, etc. so the nurse can give it to the doctor ahead of time. Dr. Jun in Homeplus is my personal favorite. I've also gone to Ulsan University Hospital with mixed luck. You can walk into the doctors usually but be prepared to wait a bit. A dr visit is usually under 10,000 won if you don't have any tests or x-rays, if it's just a standard examination. The usual procedure is that the doctor will see you, prescribe medicine and/or tests, and if you need tests, you will go somewhere else if at a hospital or have to go somewhere else if at a clinic. For example, if I was at an actual large multi-department hospital and needed an X-ray, they can do it on-site, whereas a smaller clinic might need me to go somewhere else for more specific tests. The doctor can usually tell you where to go and will give you a note, etc. I also recommend asking your doctor for specific medication instructions just in case the pharmacist doesn't speak English. It's always good to double-check. Usually for something like a cold, infection or the normal complaints you would go see a GP for, you don't need more tests. If they need to see you again, the doctor or nurse will arrange for a follow-up visit. Once all tests are taken care of if you need a test, and follow-up appointments are arranged, then you will pay and be given two papers. One paper is a receipt and the other will be a prescription for a pharmacy. Make sure you know which is which. Some hospitals if they are large will have an on-site pharmacy. If they don't then you will have to go to an outside pharmacy. If you go to Dr. Jun, I recommend just go downstairs the the Homeplus Pharmacy. If you are seeing someone at a hospital, stay close to the hospital to get your prescription filled if your medication isn't something very common (e.g. antibiotics). Typically, pharmacies in areas with a lot of foreigners (e.g. Hyundai Department Store Basement Pharmacy in Dong-gu) or near a big hospital like Dong Kang will have someone that speaks English and can fill most medications. The smaller neighborhood pharmacies might not have all medications, but they are usually okay for most things. I'd ask your doctor when he prescribes your medicine where he recommends. All in all, this is mostly if you are visiting a non-specialist. It's a really easy process and I found that it was not stressful at all. It's also rather cheap, the most expensive I've had was when I had a barrage of blood tests and other things done, and that was still only a bit over 120,000 with medication.

sorry emma... it was 3 yrs ago when i lived in korea so going off memory... i think her name is Dr. Kim but she should have a medical cross on the building. there are a few doctors there with medical crosses on the building but they are male. if u get to the nammock bus stop is the most important thing and u can ask for a female doctor. her sons & husband live in california so she can speak english well. when i was sick she called my school and asked for a day off and then drove me to lunch and drove me to my home. she was desperate to find english speakers so she can keep it up in order to talk with her sons in cali

I had a chest X ray done in Busan for a Visa, it was 50,000 just for the Xray, they specialise in visa medicals and have a whole department just for visa medicals it was at Inje University Paik Hospital, The number is 015 797 0372 that's for Mrs Kim, her English is excellent or the main office is 051 797 0370. oh and the X ray results were all in English too.

Dr. Lee at Frau Medi speaks perfect English and she takes a lot of time with each patient.

The other less fluent but a good Dr., in the same clinic, is Dr. Seo Hyung Ho (2 nd Row).

Dr. Yomi kyung in the 365 clinic in guyeongri area. A very nice dr and is fluent at english. Another one of their doctors can speak english too, not very fluently though.

If you're in the Samsan area, Dr. Jun at the Homeplus in Yaumdong is a paediatrician who has good English. I haven't been to him, but many of the English teachers go to him because of his English level.

Dr Oh at Ulsan University Hospital is great.

Dr Jung at Boram has good English and I really liked him.

Dr. Park at Bangojin. He is not a pediatrician . But after trying most pediatricians around he suited best at least for my little one. .and soon became our family doc..

Andrew Great tip, Yeah about the "shape" I think I chose a wrong word for that, it's a extremely slight shape change. Barely can see. The problem is when I try to close my thumb (doesn't let me close it, as if there's some wrench in the gear). So as you said, physical theraps is a good idea then.

MS hospital in mugeodong is a good womans hospital. Dr Park at Seoul Morning Clinic trained in Iowa. He is in mugeodong also.

Both my children were born at the MS hospital... We had Dr. Han (a man ...who speaks English) but they do have female OBGYN on their staff...

Dr. Kim by Hyundai Dept Store in Samsan. She's on the 2 nd floor above the Starbucks on the corner. The English-speaking doctor in Miz is nice and the wait as a walk-in was never more than 10 minutes, but Dr. Kim is much more talkative and helpful (though you may have to wait a little longer before getting to see her).

If you don't mind traveling to Busan, PNUH (Pusan National University Hospital) has some of the best doctors and technology around. There is a nurse who works as a liaison to help translate for foreigners also, she is very kind. I had knee surgery there and was very pleased with results. I went there after getting a false diagnosis from an Ulsan hospital. You can set up an appointment directly through her or go to the ER.

I second Ulsan University Hospital. This is where I had my knee surgery after a year of misdiagnosis from lesser hospitals in Ulsan.

I've had a couple of muscular problems from running over the past few months. I've gone here every time. It's called Gana Orthopedic Clinic in Dong-gu. The doctor checks you out downstairs, up one flight for treatment. Ask your doctor for a recommendation for physiotherapy, if no one here suggests a good place. Or you could contact Ulsan University hospital in Donggu (near the Hyundai dept. store).

U.S. Trained Family Doctor!!! Dr. June is a wonderful doctor who is fluent in English and has an American medical license! His clinic, Asian-Pacific Medical Center, is on the 3 rd floor of the Namgu Homeplus. Clinic phone number 052-261-9155 They are open holidays and weekends, too ^^

Does Miss Hospital (formerly MS), still have the female internal medicine doctor? A couple of years ago they also advertised that they had a female gyno too, fyi.

I had a great experience with Goodmorning ENT (굿모닝 이비인후과) in samsan. As I've posted before they brought me back to life when I had a nasty bought of tonsilitis. The doctors english is pretty solid but I forget the name of the one I saw. They're in the big building behind Hyundai Department store in samsan
