I've been going to Dr. Gregg Henckel since I was a kid and he always made it a comfortable experience for me and my siblings. I've been there through cleanings, braces, Invisalign, and fillings and never once had a poor experience.

We go to Dr Fred Krimelmeier in la crosse. I don't think he takes insurance but he's much cheaper than the dentist I used to go to who took insurance. Allows payments for bigger when and does muscle testing, no fluoride etc. My daughter reacts quite negatively to food dyes and other ingredients found in dental tooth polish and we are thankful to have someone we don't have to be so on guard with

This is from that link Terri shared. This is my understanding. About all that Medicare pays for in dental is if you have a dead tooth and need or want it pulled (but no replacement or anything else). Or if you got hurt in the teeth through an accident, they would do some repair, etc. They have dramatically cut back this care over the last 9 years, Malkah. I think your best bet is to find a clinic that either uses students (i.e. in Madison) to do the work, or that lowers the price based on your income. Or a dentist who will take payments. So sorry. I think it is sad that Medicare doesn't cover Dental and Eye Doctor. Work and pay taxes and when you retire or get disabled they the system forget about you!:-(

I believe Midwest Dental does (but I'd call to double check). I just started seeing both Dr. Audrey Uker (Viroqua) and Dr. Joe Uker (La Crosse) who were very accommodating and understanding, considering I had/have a pretty deep phobia of dentistry and hadn't been to a dentist in over a decade. All of the hygienists are wonderful too.

I see Dr Johnson in LaX... he's easy to get into, but has zero "chair side manner"

I go to Dr. Klum..and my husband goes to Dr. Iverson.. no real reason we have different dentists:) .. but when we changed from a prior dentist, we each had someone recommend each one and we had already individually made appts. before we "compared notes"..so since we were both happy, we just kept them... and we're each happy with both. I've also heard good things about Dr. Gajewski before this post as well.. so it looks like you have three good options! Good luck.

I like Dr Klum in Viroqua, but I hear very good things about Dr Iverson and Dr Gajewski., both in Westby. They all seem to have awesome hygienists, which is a big deal when choosing your dental office too

Scenic Bluffs in Cashton is the only dental clinic in the area that accepts Badgercare, Fred Kreimelmeyer in LaX is the hand's-on favorite for 'alternative' dental care, Leanne Klum seems the fav' for most of the immigrants to the area who have private insurance. Hope this helps.

Dr. Leanne Klum at Voroqua Dental. For a doctor, it depends on insurance. But Gunderson Clinic in Viroqua, they have 2 CNM, 2 APNP, 3 DO's and 3 MD's. 2 of the providers do manulations and 2 do acupuncture.

Dr. Jerry Baumgardner at Viroqua Dental. Been going to him for 30 years. He is the best.

If you're ok with barebones denistry, Dr Wolfenden in Hillsboro does Badgercare and not too much of a waiting list last I heard.

Black River Falls has a dental clinic that takes Badgercare, and they are excellent, part of the Marshfield Clinic system.
