I concur that GR isn't great but please go if you need urgent help. There are a ton of psychologists in the area, you'd need to call around for availability and how they're doing appointments. Video calls are a good alternative most should offer. Take care of yourself stranger!

You work at Guelph General? Then you must know that the ER always has a mental crisis doctor working in case people start feeling suicidal. If you want to avoid conversations with your peers then go to any other ER that will help you with what you are feeling. You know the protocol already. Use the system to initiate this conversation.

The Delton Glebe counselling centre has therapists available both in person and online for telehealth. There usually isn’t a wait list so I wouldn’t be surprised if you could start seeing someone this week. Take care of yourself.

My suggestion would be to call Here 24/7 they are the front door to all mental health services in our region. They can send a worker to meet with you anytime of day. They can also provide the assistance you are looking for whether it be monthly counseling or a residential program. They website is [Here 24/7](https://here247.ca) or call them at 1-844-437-3247. There are people that care, it’s awesome you are seeking support when you are in need.

As a paramedic I understand your concern over getting help at the hospital. Ive tried to help so many people and unfortunately the hospital is not a long term solution. It's great for a referral if you don't have a family doctor but it doesn't offer any long term solution. Have you checked out Frontline Forward? They offer counselling and other services to frontline staff, I'm sure hospital staff are included l. And remember, you're not alone. It's good to see you looking for help.

check out [hard feelings.](https://www.hardfeelings.org/) they're located on bloor west, but because of covid they're doing virtual sessions. they focus on low-cost counselling. after 10 or so sessions the rate goes up however. just a heads up. i've had a friend do it and she still sees the therapist she met from hard feelings 5 months later.

I'm in a similar position, and have wondered about this for a couple years now... I can't afford therapy, but, like you, don't wish to project onto the people in my life. I would love to chat with someone qualified, but also empathetic- at least just a handful of times. I don't have a family doctor.

Hey there! Because you are a youth I would try looking into the free therapy services at Stella's place. Search Stella's place on Google and have a lookski into it. That's where I would go for free therapy when I was 22! Also I would look into zoom therapy! They go for cheaper !

One session for free as part of a PTSD study at UWO/University Hospital via Dr Ruth Lanius Research Team. It helped me come to terms with one trauma of concern (I have many). I have a friend that swears by it but I dont know who did it for her. Providers can be found via google search for your area.

I went to Absolute Rehab for both my knee and shoulder injuries and they were great. They are on university across from Pillers. Very close and they have evening appts. There is a chiro and massage and Physio under one roof smile emoticon
