Dr. Robert Hall at OPA did a great job on my knee and my moms shoulder. Jeff Robison (retired CEA employee) had is shoulder done from someone out in the Valley and has had great success on both of his surgerys.

OPAs UCR is an issue, even without network. The insurance company is going to pay X amount for a procedure. OPA is going to charge their amount and you're going to pay the difference. I've seen the difference run in to the thousands.

My husband swears by Dr. Manion at OPA Anchorage. He had a total shoulder rebuilt and was very pleased with the results.

I go in for rotator repair, SLAP lesion repair & to re-attach my tendon all in right shoulder this morning. Dr. Doug Vermillion is an excellent surgeon. Do not go to Geiringer, the last few years, the majority of his surgeries have to be repeated. Rebound for PT is the best!! I had all my pt from back surgery & they helped recover even faster!!

Terri, you may want to check with Larry Levine. I am not sure if he handles shoulders, but he is a very good Orthopedic Surgeon in Anchorage. Plus, he is a known quantity.. Take care and best of luck.

OPA has some good doctors, Dr. Flanum did my neck surgery

Dr. Eli Powell did mine and the results were great. Most important is the PT afterwards Eric Steenburgh at Rebound Is the best. They both work on Aces Players and other athletes all the time. I highly recommend both of them.

Thank you Terri Oakes --- I love Dr. Ryan. He has been my kid's pediatrician since birth and then delivered my grand twins. We are in search of a Orthopedic now.

I think she meant Dr. Adrian Ryan at AFOC. He is who I would recommend. From a benefits perspective, OPA always goes over U&C by a significant amount and won't participate in the networks. We swapped to AFOC because of that.
