Gypsy Joy, may I also suggest that if you really want to go all the way to Cape York and do some of the 4 wd tracks up there, that you do a 4 wd driving course first and don't go up there by yourself either. The Telegraph Track is SERIOUS 4 wheel driving. Perhaps have a look at some of the awesome 4 wd bus tours from Cairns to Cape York. Eg: www.capeyorktours.com.au
