He has takin great care of my kids especially my son. My son was really sick as a newborn and spent most of the first 2-3 years in and out of hospitals I couldn't have asked for a better doctor for them. I highly recommend him! She takes her time and does a thorough exam and doesn't rush you out of the office. She will even come in after hours to save you an emergency room visit. http://www.unionpeds.com/Home.aspx

Stacey S. replied:
My oldest daughter is 11 and we were going to St Luke Pediatrics in Florence (Now called St. Elizabeth Pediatrics) and I loved them and took my 2 nd daughter who's now 7 and my baby who's now 16 months. I have never had an issue with them because my old er daughters were rarely ever sick so we usually only had to go for the normal physicals, flu shots, etc. Well when my baby was born she had swallowed fluid and we were told she would get it out on her own and sent home 24 hours after she was born. Well, every week for 4 weeks I was taking her to St. E Physicians twice a week because he breathing was very shallow and she was wheezing a lot.The doctors had told me that she just had a little cold and not to worry about it and continued to send us home saying it was "new Mommy worries" and that she was perfectly fine. Well on week 4 I went in because I felt that she was only getting worse and they once again told me I needed to get some rest because the lack of sleep was making me "worry too much" and sent us home again and said she was fine. Later that evening her breathing wasn't improving any and I was at my breaking point. I woke my fiance and told him I wanted to take her to the hospital, and he blew me off and said that I heard what the doctors said and I just needed to get some sleep. So instead of arguing with him I put her in her car seat and I called 911. When the ambulance arrived her oxygen was at 87% and going down and asked which hospital I wanted to take her to. I told them I wanted to take her to Children's and when we got into the ambulance her oxygen was now down to 85% and they said we had to stop at the Florence hospital to stabilize her because they weren't comfortable taking her straight to Children's. When we got to Florence they took an X-ray and found that she had pneumonia and a partial collapsed lung! They stabilized her and sent us straight to Children's where she was placed immediately in the PICU and I was told by the doctors that if I would have listened to her primary physician my daughter would have died through the night! My baby spent 3 weeks in the PICU at Children's and has scarring in her lungs and her lungs are so weak the they have collapsed several times since then from what is a normal cold to most children. Pulmonary told me that her doctors should have caught this in the first week that I took her and began antibiotics and steroids to help strengthen her lungs, and because they didn't, we can only hope that her lungs will get stronger the older she gets. So needless to say we no longer go to St Elizabeth Pediatrics! I now take her and her sisters to St. Elizabeth Physicians in Walton to see Dr. Martin and we haven't had ANY complaints. They are very attentive and on top of things and I would recommend them to anyone. I think the worst place you could take your child to is St E Pediatrics because I've personally had a horrible experience with them that almost cost my daughter her life! No parent should have to hold their newborn baby hooked up to a bunch of machines with tubes in their nose and mouth and have to feed them with a syringe through a feeding tube! I really hope nobody ever has to go through that and I wouldn't recommend them to ANYONE.

Shannon M. replied:
I take my kids to St. E Pediatrics and if there is ever a situation where I cannot be seen the same day, I have just taken my kids to St. E Urgent care on US 42. They are part of St. E so they have the records available to review and can communicate with the doctors office really easily, if needed. I have taken my son to Urgent Care for a rash and they were able to treat it, I am sure they could help your daughter.

Get the hell out of St E!!! At 18 months my daughter contracted MRSA. Even though it was big in the news at the time, they didn't catch it until she was septic. Could have killed my baby with their inability to properly care for children. Move to a practice that's separate from St E. We use Union Pediatrics. Dr Warner is the best thing that ever happened to us.

Heather W. replied:
Pediatrics of Florence..525-8181, I saw Dr.Wynn when my son was a baby/toddler, she's so nice and patient. She's very educated, she has several degrees in medicine and child psychology/behavior. She sits and explains everything to you, she doesn't rush you and has a genuine concern for your child and your patronage. We see Dr.Shawn now as well, because my son prefers a male doctor, he's great too, very personable and very good with children. The doctors office is great, I've always been able to get him in that day if he's sick, we've never had to wait more than a few minutes to be seen, and they've even stayed open longer to wait for us on a Saturday to give my son a strep test.

Beth P. replied:
We had an issue with Dr. Warner, but that's for another time. My sons see our primary doctor at St. E's on Mt. Zion. Dr. Walters - he and the staff there are awesome.
Kelly Z. replied:
We also go to Dr. Janson. There are 2 other doctors in the practice and we really like Janson the best. We did some research because we thought about switching after a disagreement with one of the docs, but I was nervous about consistent care so we stuck it out and have been happy seeing only Dr Janson. I have heard great things about Pediatric Associates in Crestview Hills. Good luck with your search... It's a tough choice! When I started calling around, many places weren't accepting new patients, so don't put it off much longer. Congrats on the new addition!

He had Aetna through his dad, then switched to wellcare... They don't accept Medicaid. But that was a year or more they might now under the new insurance policies? I've never thought to check, because I love his doc at Healthpoint, but he is only familiar with his ADHD. Insurance and that are the 2 reasons we are at health point. If Hermeling started taking Medicaid I would go back b/c she started seeing him about 1 yr old. Before that he went to St Luke Pediatrics in Florence

Sheila Hermeling she's with Primary Pediatrics:59 Cavalier blvd. #330 in Florence. Same road sports of all sorts is on and Ryans steak house use to be. They are all good but we liked her best.
