Dr. Saira Mitha, Southdale Pediatrics - we've worked with her for 10 yrs. She is very warm, knowledgeable, and very honest - if something is out of her range of specialty, she never hesitates to consult a colleague or recommend someone to bring in. I t rust her humility and her authority. I do not know how many patients she may have on the spectrum, as that's not exactly our special need! I wish you luck, Lakeville has proved to be a wonderful home for us. Dr. Mitha practices in Burnsville - a few miles north.

I second Dr. Mitha. We've been seeing her the past 5 years and she has been great. She is very knowledgeable and led us in the right direction to get our son diagnosed and the help he needed.

There is a doc at Allina Clinic in Richfield that may fit some of your criteria. Doctor is female but can't remember her name at the moment. You can always call and ask though. My doctor is leaving patient care to pursue another path in medicine and recommended her to me.

I love love LOVE Carolyn Toll at Allina The Doctors in uptown. Basically Lake and Lagoon. I've referred at least five others there who love her! She's easy to get in with, too. And funny. And super smart. Very research based. She's not family practice though, she's internal med. LOVE her.
I'm looking for a new family doctor (who is at least familiar with Celiac) and a GI Doctor. I live in big lake, but am in maple grove weekly. I am diagnosed Celia.
Teresa H. replied:
Is it for you or for a child? My son sees Dr. Sudel as his pediatric gastro and he sees patients in the Fairview Maple Grove office.
Janet S. replied:
At Allina in Champlin, we have several celiac-saavy providers. Dr. Spandl is a pediatrician with DH and I am a family NP with DH and a daughter with Celiac. the others are pretty knowledgeable just because they are around it--and good resources around.
